On the map, the Golden Horseshoe area might not look too large, but there are several immense municipalities in the region, spanning from Ajax real estate past Oakville real estate and into St. Catharines, which actually extends for many kilometres in all directions; the area is home to 8.1 million people and attempts to navigate it are best done in chunks. We have decided to break those chunks up by position within the region.
Direction is relative, of course; the indicated direction all depends on where one is standing. In order to navigate from a fixed point, we are making the Greater Toronto area the centre of the Golden Horseshoe region, and the areas we talk about take their bearings from that. Those looking for information on Pickering real estate or a condo in downtown Toronto, for example, would look in the GTA section of our site. This particular section is dedicated to the communities and land that makes up the eastern part of the Golden Horseshoe area, bordering the shores of Lake Ontario.
The eastern part of this region of human geography is not quite as populated as the centre and west. But, make no mistake, this does not mean there are not people and cities aplenty in the eastern end. It is just that the farther one gets from Toronto and the Michigan border, the less opportunities there are for quick and easy transportation. Thus, industry tends to concentrate in the southern parts of the province and the GH area. Just look at the populations looking for Kitchener homes for sale to see the differences of each side of the GTA. But, that doesn't mean there aren't some great properties on Ajax real estate or Ajax homes for sale.
Still, there are plenty of cities in this region with easy access to the border, Toronto, and some of Canada's other large centres. These cities have an advantageous shipping position on Lake Ontario and have developed their own standalone economies over time. A good example is the municipality of Whitby real estate. It is unique within the Golden Horseshoe because of a decided split that makes the community both urban and rural. To the south, the city is quite urban, and considered to be an economic hub within the region. Not too far to the north, though, for those interested in a home sale, Whitby starts to become increasingly rural. Some of the suburbs in this area include Brooklin homes, Myrtle Station, and Myrtle, all of which have a distinctly small town feel.
The object of this part of our site will be to give you a lot of information on Scarborough homes for sale and other towns like it within the eastern part of the Golden Horseshoe. Our articles will help you out, whether you are looking for a specific industry, local festival, or a real estate agent. Canada is the home of quite a few diverse regions, but none is quite so vibrant as the Golden Horseshoe. By breaking the region up we think you will have an easier time navigating the information and understanding why the east, north, central, and west parts of the region are so vital to the Canadian mosaic.
